What is Cardiac Scoring
Cardiac Scoring is a fast, convenient and painless procedure that detects calcium build-up in the arteries of the heart. Cardiac Scoring uses an ultrafast computerized tomography (CT) scanner, which makes it possible to take clear pictures of your heart and coronary arteries so that the amount of calcium deposits in the arteries can be measured. There is a direct correlation between the amount of calcium build-up in the coronary arteries and the increasing risk of heart disease. Calcium build-up is a warning sign of heart disease. Cardiac scoring can detect coronary artery disease years or even decades before it would have been suspected. |
